課程概述

社會科學是研究人、社會群體與制度結構的專業，我們將透過輕鬆、趣味的開放學習過程，導引學生快樂地重新認識社會科學的重要基本概念，並且自然發展出獨立思考能力與進階學習興趣。大學是開放學習的環境，每個學生可自由選取有興趣的主題好好學習。Take it easy and open your mind! 學習過程可能辛苦，但成就非凡，也許是日後最值得懷念的好日子!

這個專題我們要探討的主題包括:
1.歷史上男人亦或女人比較重要? 2.社會與國家如何形成? 3.誰說經濟決定一切? 4.誰最喜歡政治權力的滋味? 5.價值意識形態只是形而上的東西?你的文化/生活風格是什麼? 6.超越性別:如何成為不可替代的重要人物? 7.市場是萬能的嗎?國家介入應該嗎?各國制度安排有很大差異嗎? 8.民主指政治民主?經濟民主?社會民主? 9.地球真的是平的嗎? 10.探索自己的特質:追求生命展現與專業學習的完美結合。

在探討上述主題之後，學生們將透過分組(6-7人一組)，進行學習實作專題，並在期末課堂分享分組報告成果。
 

課程目標
 (一) 幫助學生適應大學的學習方式。
(二) 培養學生自我學習、溝通表達、獨立思考及批判反省的能力。
(三) 引導學生探索自我，思考在大學階段的學習發展方向。
 
課程要求
 1.融入課堂討論
2.參與分組討論與期末分組報告

「新生專題」課程評分方式以通過(Pass)/不通過(No Pass)表示之，評分依據著重於課堂參與、書面或口頭報告，非考試分數。
